How do I get current and visible characters only

I tried to get commands typed by user on KeyPress event of SshTerminalControl, but when you press backspace then even deleted characters also appears. How do I get current and visible characters only.

For Example:

I typed ls - -l then 7 times backspace and then I typed pwd

$ ls - -l pwd

please help.
